What is "Africa in the Americas"?
"Africa in the Americas" is an interactive-demonstrative conference
divided in two parts:
The first part of the workshop is
a musical-historical view of the rhythms and instruments of percussion of the african-arabian, african and european cultures
that have influenced the music of the Caribbean and the Americas. It also offers a demonstration of typical african, arabian
and caribbean instruments. During this time participants will enjoy a short concert and a computerized conference. Furthermore,
they will be able to see and listen to a variety of rhythms and instruments of percussion that greatly influenced our musical
