THE BEST EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOP

Discover who we are, what we do
and how we enrich our
Latinamerican culture.

What is "Africa in the Americas"?
"Africa in the Americas" is an interactive-demonstrative conference divided in two parts:
The first part of the workshop is a musical-historical view of the rhythms and instruments of percussion of the african-arabian, african and european cultures that have influenced the music of the Caribbean and the Americas. It also offers a demonstration of typical african, arabian and caribbean instruments. During this time participants will enjoy a short concert and a computerized conference. Furthermore, they will be able to see and listen to a variety of rhythms and instruments of percussion that greatly influenced our musical heritage.
The second part of the workshop is a practice session where everyone attending will have an opportunity to explore and execute rhythms, corporal movement exercises and percussion instruments. Everyone will be able to bring a percussion instrument.
This is a four (4) hours workshop.

Africa in the Americas also count with a short version called a Concert-Demostration with a duration of one and a half hour

Purpose:
